Tri-City Chili Peppers start and end the weekend with two exciting wins; 9-8 and 4-3

The Tri-City Chili Peppers won in both the first game and last game of the weekend, both in exciting fashion. The Peppers defeated the Holly Spring Salamanders 9-8 in extra innings by a walk-off, and beat the Wilson Tobs 4-3 in an exciting comeback.

The first game of the weekend was an offensive slugfest against the Salamanders. The Peppers went blow for blow, exchanging runs with Holly Springs. Evan Bouldin led the offensive charge, going 4-6, and was supported by Jacob Lee who hit a monster homer, and doubles from Jaedan Carter and Zion Taylor that scored four combined runs. The Peppers walked it off with a single from Evan Bouldin, winning 9-8.

The Peppers ended the weekend with equally exciting although different win in a comeback victory against the Tobs. The Peppers’ pitchers put in the work, with reliever Logan Tapman getting Pitcher of the Night, after going three innings, giving up no runs, one hit, and striking out four. The offense came in late, as the Tobs had a 2-0 lead going into the fifth. Then in the fifth through the seventh, the Peppers scored four runs, one of which was a moonshot by Evan Bouldin. Cooper Clapp also put in the work, going 3-4 with three RBI.

With this weekend under their belt, the Peppers have another week full of games. They have games on Thursday and Friday at home against the Greenville Yard Gnomes and the Tobs once again, both at 7pm EST.
