Colonial Heights,  VA — The Tri-City Chili Peppers were due for a game like this. A seven-inning 16-6 drubbing of the Wilson Tobs capped off the Father’s Day festivities at Shepherd Stadium.

The Peppers were coming into the game on a five-game skid, while the Tobs had won five straight. After a frustrating loss to Wilson (10-4) the previous night where the Chili Peppers outhit the Tobs 12-6 but committed five errors, Tri-City hitters racked up 17 hits Sunday, five of which were home runs. Michael Dolberry (Longwood) got the ball rolling in the bottom of the first with a three-run shot. First baseman Brandon Eike (Virginia Commonwealth) hit a grand slam, his third long ball of the young season and his second grand slam. Hitting in cleanup (4th) as the designated hitter, Krew Bouldin of Deleware State hit his first home run of the summer.

Hayden Snelsire (Randolph-Macon) started the game on the hill for Tri-City (8-6), striking out four and giving up just one run.
