This past Saturday, the Tri-City Chili Peppers and the Faulkner Foundation took home the prestigious RVA Impact Event of the Year Award. This outstanding achievement highlights the organization’s dedication to making a positive difference & also showcases the power of collaboration and community involvement. The RVA Impact Event of the Year is an award that recognizes organizations and events that have made a significant impact in the greater Richmond area. Along with the Chili Peppers, the award also honors the Faulkner Foundation. Which was established in the memory of Prince George High School baseball player Payton Faulkner, who was tragically killed in a car accident just weeks after his high school graduation in this past year. The Chili Peppers hosted a benefit game in order to raise money for the foundation, in which those funds would go towards creating a scholarship in Payton Faulkner’s name, as well as a new pavilion. “It’s an honor” says team owner Chris Martin when describing what it means for the Chili Peppers to be involved in so many community outreach initiatives in the area. The Chili Peppers will continue to “Play for Payton” & represent the Tri-City area with the utmost respect. Special shoutout to the rest of the nominees who are also doing fantastic work & deserve recognition for their efforts:
